CryptoAlgo is an independent Australian publication covering crypto exchanges, trading bots, and algorithmic trading. We help self-directed traders make better decisions in a market that’s noisy, jurisdiction-specific, and changes fast.
Why this site exists
If you’re an Australian crypto trader, most of the advice you find online wasn’t written for you. US-focused exchange comparisons miss AUSTRAC registration. UK guides skip the ATO’s CGT discount rules. Generic “best bot” lists ignore which platforms can legally serve Australian retail clients.
We publish reviews and guides built specifically for the Australian context — registered exchanges, ATO-compliant tax handling, ASIC’s stance on derivatives and CFDs, and the small but growing list of bots and algo-trading platforms that actually work for retail Aussie traders.
What we cover
- Crypto exchanges — every AUSTRAC-registered exchange that serves Australian residents, reviewed for fees, security, supported assets, fiat rails, and tax-time exports.
- Trading bots and tools — automated bots, charting platforms, portfolio trackers, and crypto tax software, with notes on whether they’re available to Australian users and how Australian tax events get handled.
- Algorithmic trading — practical guides for traders building their own strategies: backtesting, grid bots, DCA, market-making, Python tooling, and how to think about risk.
How we write reviews
Every product review on CryptoAlgo follows a consistent rubric: fees, security, supported assets, deposit and withdrawal options, customer support response times, regulatory standing, and tax reporting. Where possible, we open accounts and run real trades before publishing. Where that’s not possible (closed-beta platforms, unsupported jurisdictions), we say so.

How we make money
CryptoAlgo earns affiliate commissions when readers sign up to platforms via our links. This never changes how we rate a product or what we recommend. Our editorial team and our commercial team are kept separate, and you can read the full breakdown on our affiliate disclosure page.
